I didn't find this anywhere in the FAQ, so I'll ask here: How difficult would it be to implement a DS Encoder? I have looked at the DS Decoder in the Plugins and would like to create a DS Encoder so I can use some of the W*ndoze Codecs to Encode using the avilfile library.
I have to write a Linux DS Encoder anyway (for my work) and would obviously contribute the results back to the project so everyone could benefit by being able to encode with W*ndoze codecs. Has anyone tried implementing this before? I tried sending an e-mail to Eugene Kuznetsov (the guy who wrote the DS Decoder) to ask about this, but his e-mail account seems "frozen". Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated.
