[Avifile]libSDL

Hello...I hope not to disturb you with this email. I�m trying to install avifile 0.6 (CVS) under My Linux Box (Mandrake 8.2), to record movies in divx4 format with vcr 1.09. Configure, Generated by autogen.sh, cannot find the right version of libSDL (>= 1.0.0). I installed libSDL bundled by Mandrake (1.2). I�d prefer not to downgrade libSDL ( a lot of dependencies problems). Avifile bundled by my distro has not the divx4 plugin, probably for legal reasons, and I cannot retrieve over the internet the right release of it (it�s available the version 7.x).
