hi guys, after a week of trying by my self, i have to call for help. avicap hangs when starting to record from my tv-card. Why the hack isn't it working?
I have the following components Kernel 2.4.19 AviFile 0.7.17 NVidia-Graphics-Card (all compiled; no rpms ...) Hauppauge WinTV BT848 Starting avicap from console gets me this: Available CPU flags: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 mmx fxsr syscall mmxext 3dnowext 3dnow 605.983000 MHz AMD Duron(tm) Processor processor detected using X11 display :0 x11: mode=1280x1024x16 x11: deteced framebuffer depth: 16 bpp x11: set depth to 16 bpp dga: base=0xe2000000, width=1280 set video mode: 1280x1024, 16 bit/pixel, 2560 byte/scanline set framebuffer at 0xe2000000 ok Using 251 Mb of memory for frame caching BTTV driver version 0.7.91 detected Broken VBI implementation; disabling closed captioning [i'm using PAL...] v4l1: bpp 16, bpl 2560, width 768, height 288 v4l1: video buffer: size 4259840, frames 2 v4l1: memory for snap shots: 0x40a8c000 Resolution: 640 x 480 until here, it works, and now i start recording: v4lxif::grabSetParams(640, 480, 7) it hangs. additional information: i read, a missing sdl-implementation would cause problems. due to mplayer (works fine), i have sdl working: VO: [sdl] 640x272 => 640x272 Planar YV12 SDL: Using driver: x11 i tried all codecs with avicap ... i don't think the codecs are the problem. what gets me screwed about it, is the fact, that it did work (nearly perfectly) on (nearly) the same system as now. i had to use an old version of X (3 ??), because i had to use a monitor which was only capable of 640x480. Some days later i got a 17" and problem was there. But now i can neither find the switch back to the old X-Version via drakconf, nor i can find the reason, why it doesn't work. and avicap did a great job, i could record 640x480 with my Duron 600 (compared to barely working 320x240 on a win2k-system [long ago] this made me go 8-O ) do you want to help me? cu, Uwe _______________________________________________ Avifile mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://prak.org/mailman/listinfo/avifile
