Alright, avifile works great on my machine (Athlon, MGA G400), but my friend
is having a bit of trouble with it, and I thought maybe the list could help
or point me in the right direction:
The box is a P3 with an ATI Rage Pro. When we try to play an AVI, we get:
<renderer> : Input iso-8859-1, output iso-8859-1
<renderer> : SDL video driver: x11
<renderer> : created surface: 320x240 16 bits
<renderer> : No hardware YUV acceleration detected!
<renderer> : *** Using SDL software YUV emulation ***
Usually most codecs supports RGB modes - so you may
achieve better performance with disabled YUV flag
<renderer> : created overlay: 320x240 Packed YUY2
Sound plays fine, but the video window is just straight black. My guess is
that it's trying to use YUV but it's not supported, but then it tries
another overlay that isn't supported either. I tried compiling without Xv
support just for the sake of trying to get around the problem, but I get the
same error.
Is there a way to force software rendering altogether, or is that not possible?
Thanks for any help you can give, guys...
