Hmmm... I'm using the exactly te same configuration, and all seems allright... 
have you tryed with export QTDIR=/path/to/your/qt/dir?
Wit that you NEED also to set export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$QTDIR/lib...
That WILL work... Guarantied... :)
