Summary: Weird avifile crash
Initial Comment:
Every program compiled with latest 0.7.22 (and few
previous releases) crashes immediately upon execution
on my PC. These programs used to printout CPU data on
the console, but now there is just "Segmentation fault".
Furthermore, they crash on weird address, i.e. (what
got linked in here?):
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0x40009e53 in ?? (),
0x40009e53: add %esi,(%eax)
0x40009e55: add $0x8,%edx
0x40009e58: cmp %ecx,%edx
0x40009e5a: jb 0x40009e20
0x40009e5c: mov 0xffffffb8(%ebp),%edx
whereas the main() begins at:
0x80495e9 <main+9>: mov 0x8(%ebp),%edi
0x80495ec <main+12>: mov 0xc(%ebp),%esi
0x80495ef <main+15>: mov $0x8049bd0,%ebx
0x80495f4 <main+20>: movl $0x5,0xffffffd4(%ebp)
Needles to say, the programs crash even before
entering main()!
Must be something with my setup, because it works on
another PC. It drives me nuts. Additional info is
available on
request. I can even open an account on my computer if
someone does not believe it happens.
Drop me an e-mail.
Best regards,
Kresimir
