As I mentioned in another of my email - unstable now stands for its name.

Anyway try to use CVS version - there are some linking tests which
actually allows you to use  Xft2 linked with avifile - however 
libqt-mt will not survive this properly - it will usually crash 
on exit.

sure - recompile  qt with you current system libraries  and C++ compiler.
and update to CVS avifile version.
