Could you attach also config.log

There has been already one problem discoverd - with
older autoconf 2.13  some 'smart person' has 'the great idea'
to predefine  exit with it's own prototype - unfortunaly
this prototype doesn't match the one from stdlib.h
this it will fail to compile - the solution is to upgrade to
newer autotools or fixing from macrofile for older autoconf.

For now it should be enought to add configure.ac links
this usually forces usage of newer autotools.
(autogen.sh  --linkac     should do the trick)
