Hmm it looks actually quite alright - there is one difference - that
I can hear the radio befor the    '<aviplay> : Closing clip'
appears.

I assume you hear nothing right ?

the list of available codecs you can get with  'aviplay -c'
you may force usage of specific codec with -vc/-ac 

- maybe - could try to enable loging ?
export WRITE_ASF=1

and check if the file /tmp/asf* is being created (eventually if it's
playable by aviplay)
