This is an announcement for the users of our Long Term Stability version of Avocado. This is a minor release that introduces bug fixes that are considered important to our users.
Bugfixes ======== * A fix for crashes on broken pipes * Avocado won't let broken terminals anymore (such as ones without echo). * Other backports of changes necessary to keep Avocado LTS up and running on newer development environments. For a full list of changes, please refer to: https://github.com/avocado-framework/avocado/compare/36.3...36.4 LTS in a nutshell ================= The LTS releases have a special cycle that lasts for 18 months. Avocado usage in production environments should favor the use of this LTS release, instead of non-LTS releases. For more information, please refer to: https://www.redhat.com/archives/avocado-devel/2016-May/msg00025.html https://www.redhat.com/archives/avocado-devel/2016-April/msg00038.html Install Avocado =============== Instructions are available in our documentation on how to install either with packages or from source: http://avocado-framework.readthedocs.io/en/36lts/GetStartedGuide.html#installing-avocado Updated RPM packages are available in the project repos for EPEL 6, EPEL 7 and Fedora 25[1]. Users subscribed to the LTS "channel", will get this 36.4 update, while users using the non-LTS repo, will currently fetch 47.0 after an update. Happy hacking and testing! [1] - An issue has been found with Fedora 24, possibly related to the version of the "fabric" package there. This prevents the build of Fedora 24 packages at the moment. After the issue is resolved, Fedora 24 packages of Avocado 36.4 will be made available. It's tracked at https://trello.com/c/vMDsztJg/979-fabric-avocado-lts-fedora-24-failure-to-build-packages . -- Cleber Rosa [ Sr Software Engineer - Virtualization Team - Red Hat ] [ Avocado Test Framework - avocado-framework.github.io ] [ 7ABB 96EB 8B46 B94D 5E0F E9BB 657E 8D33 A5F2 09F3 ]
