That's a strange place for g09 considering there's no GUI to it, and it's not 
the path suggested by Gaussian.

In any case, you probably want to add this to your /etc/profile file.

export g09root=/Applications
. $g09root/g09/bsd/g09.profile
export PATH=$PATH:${g09root}/g09
