Summary: Avogadro crash on start
Initial Comment:
Avogadro 1.0.1 is crashing on every start on a x86_64 arch when it's build with
thoses options passed on cmake:
cmake -DLIB_SUFFIX=64 -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR:PATH=/usr/lib64
-DCMAKE_MODULE_LINKER_FLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed -Wl,-z,relro -Wl,-O1
-Wl,--build-id" -DDBUS_SERVICES_DIR=/usr/share/dbus-1/services
-DDBUS_INTERFACES_DIR=/usr/share/dbus-1/interfaces %{?ENABLE_TESTS}
-DENABLE_GLSL:BOOL=ON -DENABLE_PYTHON:BOOL=ON ../
except for the 3 last options others are used in the macro available for
building avogadro on mandriva.
Removing the -DLIB_SUFFIX=64 allow me to launch the application without
problem but in this case the library are not placed in /usr/lib64 as expected
on x86_64
Attached is the backtrace of the crash
>From the console i can read :
mikala@hatmehyt [~] % avogadro
QStackedLayout::setCurrentWidget: Widget 0x2b25630 not contained in stack
QGLTempContext: No GL capable X visuals available.

I merged the patch in master and 1.0. Please open a new report if you are
still seeing this issue - I can no longer reproduce this locally.

Message:
http://review.source.kitware.com/1343 addresses this issue. The lib suffix
works as expected, but they CMake cache can end up in an inconsistent
state. This change forces the appropriate cache variables, thus ensuring
they are consistent. This should get into 1.0.2, and I will merge something
similar into master.

Message:
Marcus, can you take a look? This seems to be a Cmake / lib64 issue. It
would be nice to resolve this for 1.0.2.

While looking on avogadro src code i noticed that removing somes lines fix
in fact the problem:

It's probably ugly but at least it's now working with -DLIB_SUFFIX=64
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR:PATH=/usr/lib64

Sorry for the delay.
I tried with a GeForce use the nvidia-current ( 260.19.36 ) & with an ATI
with fglrx ( 8.812 ) without success.
On my i586 notebook with an intel chipset it's working without problem.

Please specify what graphics driver are you using. For example, Noveau is
known to work improperly
