I actually solved the issue by changing the resolution of my screen (I’m 
blessed with a retina macbook) to 3840x2400 and exporting to .bmp (and 
converting that to png). Not the most elegant way, but it worked. 

I was wondering is it’s possible to add a simple menu for the resolution of the 
exported image, like done it AIMStudio for example:

I suppose that will make image export a bit more complicated than just taking 
the currently shown OpenGL frame though.
