I'm using the Mega16 in an application where I want to do in circuit programming. At least to me, the datasheet is unclear about whether or not an external (passive) crystal connected to XTAL1 and XTAL2 is sufficent to provide a clock while programming. Will the crystal work for programming or do I need something else?
