Do you have a chance to test the CVS version?
I recently extended the "butterfly" programmer a bit so it's
now a full-featured AVR109-compatible tool. (It seems to me
the original butterfly loader has eventually been polished up
a bit into appnote AVR109.) Among other things, I added the
ability to specify the baud rate.
