Details:

Howdy folks,
after my windows+avrstudio went fubar again, I decided to try the current
avrdude on linux.

I did:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/sources/avrdude co
  avrdude
cd avrdude
./bootstrap
./configure
make
sudo make install

And then:

avrdude -c dragon_isp -p m48 -P usb -U flash:v:t1.hex:i

avrdude: AVR device initialized and ready to accept instructions

Reading | ################################################## | 100% 0.15s

avrdude: Device signature = 0x1e9205
avrdude: verifying flash memory against t1.hex:
avrdude: load data flash data from input file t1.hex:
avrdude: input file t1.hex contains 2982 bytes
avrdude: reading on-chip flash data:

Reading | ############################################### | 94% 1.73s

At this point the speed slows down significantly.
The last 6% take about 150 seconds!

See the attached file for the -vvvv output.
