I noticed that if I use an eeprom file that does not start at memory
location 0 that avrdude erases all of the eeprom starting at location 0
until where my file begins. Is there any way to stop this? I store
serial numbers in the first 10 bytes of eeprom, and it is really a pain
to have to replace that serial number every time that I reprogram the
device.

I am using the avrisp Mk2 if that makes any difference. I have not
tried it with other programmers to see if this is programmer independent.

Thanks.
