Details:

I'm using WinAVR 20070525 and AVRdude 5.3.1 (at least I do think so).

While trying to write a program to an ATMega8 via the avr910 programmer
occurs an error: "Programmer doesn't support device", it says. But it does -
I've found the error's source. In the avrdude.conf on line 5298 for the
ATMega8 is written "avr910_devcode = 0x77;", but the adress must be "0x76".
77 is only for the avr109 programmer (says google^^). If you correct this
value it will work out without any problems.
no dramatic bug, just a little error - would be great if you may correct it
with the next avrdude and WinAVR versions!

PS: Sorry for my bad english, I'm just a german pupil.
