Follow-up Comment #2, patch #6233 (project avrdude):
I applied patch using file #14735, and it did fix the expected 8/got 4 issue,
but it still fails initialization. I have added a new patch that includes the
14735 changes (file 14754). Several sizeof()s were missed (one was a
potential seg fault) and this patch fixes the initialization error resulting
from yet another compare between 4 and 8.
