Details:

Avrdude Version: 5.5
OS: Debian Etch

When i try to call the avrdude 2 times directly after each other like this:

#avrdude -p m88 -c jtag2isp -B 10 -P usb&&avrdude -p m88 -c jtag2iso -B 10 -P
usb

the second call fails with the error:

#avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"

In the system log you can see that the JTAG ICE mkII is disconnected from usb
after the first call.

By looking into the source code of jtagmII.c i indentify that the disconnect
is caused by command CMND_SIGN_OFF int the function jtagmkII_close.

By adding a new close funktion without CMND_SIGN_OFF for jtag2isp the
Programmer works fine.

Reagards, Arnd
