Summary: AVRDUDE fails with strange message if parallel port not available Project: AVR Downloader/UploaDEr Submitted by: None Submitted on: Tue 07 Jul 2009 10:28:40 PM UTC Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: David Powell Originator Email: da...@depowell.com Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any _______________________________________________________ Details: I compiled AVRDUDE for an NSLU2 running SLUGOS/BE, and it compiled fine. However, it reported that the parallel port is not available on this device, which is a true statement. No problem there, because I wasn't planning to use the parallel port to download code, just the serial port (stk500v1). When I tried to download a hex file to my device (ATMEL 368) from the NSLU2, it reported a strange error message and aborted. I'm sorry, but I didn't write down the error message and now that it's working, I don't want to take a chance on breaking it. All I know is that the message had nothing to do with parallel ports. I modified ac_cfg.h to trick it into thinking I had a parallel port and recompiled, and now it works great. This is a fantastic tool! _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?26976> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.nongnu.org/ _______________________________________________ avrdude-dev mailing list avrdude-dev@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/avrdude-dev
