Good morning,
I've written a patch to SVN revision 1132 of AVRDUDE which adds functionality
to the BusPirate module for supporting the AVR Extended Command set
incorporated into newer versions of the Bus Pirate firmware.
This functionality implements a paged load method for the Bus Pirate, which
dramatically improves performance (up to 40x) when used with the appropriate
firmware.
The extended commands functionality can be disabled with the 'nopagedread'
extended parameter if desired.
This has been tested with an ATmega328p and an ATtiny8. ATmega2560 was tested
with this patch applied to an earlier version of avrdude, however no
functionality was changed when the patch was merged so the 2560 should be
fine.
