Follow-up Comment #1, patch #8580 (project avrdude):
The de-facto "standard" in AVRDUDE so far is to append the
serial number to the "usb" port string:
-P usb:xxxx
where "xxxx" are the (trailing) digits of the serial number to
be matched.
Wouldn't it make sense to handle it in the ft245r programmer
the same way?
