Hey Rialy thatx for your bug report. In these situations, the best thing to do is submit the error in the googlecode issues list for away3d that can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/away3d/issues/list with the accompanying file that doesn't work and a copy of the error you are getting. As alex mentioned, it is hard to write a parser that can deal with all collada files straight off the bat - these things need to be reported and honed. The main reason for this is that collada has a lot of different ways of doing the same thing. Consequently there are a lot of things that have to be considered, but one feature may not be used by a whole load of plugin output, then is in another and causes the importer to break. the problem with cow.dae is odd - i've seen that imported before with no problems.
