hi!

i hope someone could help me, i'm loading my objects from collada
files, and there are some meshes on which i'd like to put texture
after they've been loaded. (and change this texture sometimes in
runtime)

the loaded material is simple colormaterial, and i cannot set the
mesh.material to the loaded bitmapmaterial. i've read somewhere that
changing the material on the mesh does not work when the faces have
other materials, and when i tried to change the face materials, it
worked. but i'd need the u-v coordinates for that to produce something
usable, not the same part of the texture on each triangles. so my
question is, how can i do that? the mesh is a slice of a cylinder
surface. does away3d help me in this, or do i have to write a function
which calculates u-v for me? or is it easier to draw a cylinder
primitive, and use a texture on that? but in that way, i have to
position that cylinder to the cylinder part i need to texturize. what
do you suggest?

thanks in advance!
