I found you can "fake" a simple front projection highlight by using the enviromaterial, with a radial gradient for the reflective part. It should be faster than using lights.
About those other types of maps, not sure how many will make it to Away3D soon. Using Lights or narmal maps, depending on your object polygon amount and texture size, it will slow down your scene (which you already know) :/ -Pete On Thu, Jul 23, 2009 at 1:28 PM, desgraci <[email protected]> wrote: > > I knwo theres a lot of maps out there, even parallax maps, i was > wondering if theyre more of this in away3d, i have worked so far with > normal, but right now i was trying to make it with specular maps, but > havent any luck finding how to make thios besides making a phong > material (kills pc) and specular light. > > Theres a way to work as with the normal maps using speculars or > another kind of maps, cause to be hionest i tried for bump, but found > that is done most of the cases with the same normal (deflecting > lights) but in fact this is a different process, anyway i care more > for the cool phong, Mr. Peter K.someday tell me about some old (i > would say ancient :p 2 years ago) libraries for the phong but i havent > got any luck making this works. -- ___________________ Actionscript 3.0 Flash 3D Graphics Engine HTTP://AWAY3D.COM
