Hi All Thanks for all the replies Peter , I sorry if you feel my post was of an attacking nature , this was not the intended tone and register of my complaint and no where did i accuse the engine of been broken at all , I outlined my usage scenario , provided machine specs and folllowed by asking "what is wrong here?" and concluded with addmision of not been able to get it working my side while it obviously works with the others , quote :
"This makes me feel like a real nube pondering to myself .. how is everyone else getting this to work ? " Thanks for your links sent , i tested : * ***Hello World v2.2 *<http://away3d.com/examples.php?example=211&_searchterm=;>: *by Pete | 7467 views and it works ;) Rob thanks for the update , i still have a problem when testing the new updated example , the error reported : TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert away3d.primitives::sph...@39b815c1 to away3d.core.math.Number3D. at HelloAway3D() I am publishing to flash player 9 now as outlined in peters first reply , on this note perhaps a suggestion here would be to differentiate the svn checkout link on the website into two distinct downloads one flash 9 and one flash 10 as this is not immediatly obvious. My process yesterday involved 1:google away3d , 2:click though to site , 3: click downloads tab on the right 4: land on page where there is only one link to svn repository , flash player version not mentioned , beneath that are links to downloads for flash 9 and 10 of a older revision (Version 2.3.0) but are zip files and not svn. A second suggestion , based on the reply of Michael and including the suggestion from Peter pointing to online examples would be to rethink the importance of the deployment of updated example files included in the svn checkout. This is my point of view as been a self taught developer who has learned most of what i know from offline documentation , the classic hello world or helloAway3D in this instance , is always the starting point in many environments where the crux is to get something on the screen , and to establish a feeling or knowhow of : "Hey I did something with this application / code library and it worked" . I am willing to continue participation in testing of these example files , so lets look at what i would need to do next to get the current updated HelloAway3d example to work: 1. Should i have a dirrerent svn source to run this or is it still a bugged script?
