Hey all,

I'm new to Away 3D, and am doing some work with imported 3ds files.
It's a laborious process!

I'm finding that the following needs to be done in order to get a
successful import:

- reset all transforms using the Reset XForm tool, or else objects
appear all over the shop.
- name ALL texture assets in capitals. The format seems to store them
as caps internally

I'm still not not totally sure about some coordinate settings, either.
I have to rotate in Y to get the scene to display vertically, and my X
axis seems to be reversed.

I'm still getting my head around the Away3D API so perhaps I'll worry
about that when I know the language to successfully explore.

However, it strikes me that both these things should be detected and
solved by the importer. Is it more than a moderately difficult task?

Perhaps someone with more experience than I in the world of 3D file
formats can shed some light.

Cheers,
Dave
