Drop your model and export as as3 for Away3DLite.
If you preffer to export by code from a custom Away app, I have added
the exporter to Lite in exporter package a week ago.
also added an AIR version in Away3dAIR package
and yesterday added .awd export, away3D native data format, the
Away3DLite parser will be added soon.
the pros of this format next to a huge gain on data size are:
- compatible across away projects (once all parsers are ready, eta few
days)
- version insensitive
- drag/drop support in PreFab3D allowing future edits
- will be extended while remaining backwards compatible
- runtime & database loads
- small size
- can be embedded as well making of it a serious concurrent to as3
exports

First of all, thank you so much for Away3D- it's well organized and
easy to understand and looks fantastic!
I've been banging away on a little project in away3d for the past few
weeks, partially wondering how i'm going to squeeze a few more frames
per second out of it- and was pretty excited to make a performance
comparison with away3d lite, so I started porting over tonight.
It didn't take too long to fix the obvious stuff, materials, types,
etc. But my main issues are these:
All my models were Collada models converted to as3 classes using the
exporters package. These aren't Away3D Lite compatible. What's the
quickest and easiest way to get them into as3 classes that work for
away3d lite?
I make pretty extensive use of the minX,maxX,objectWidth, objectHeight
params which are now missing. Any plans to add these, or
alternatives? Or do I just need to calculate those values out myself?
Thanks again!
