Hey ben actually, this is going to be a bit of a letdown. the framerate throttling appeared to be down to the mrdoob stats panel we'd borrowed for the lite demos! didn't really get a chance to find out what was causing it, only that this drawing of a rectangle bizarrely fixed the problem. This only ever occurred in the test player of Flash CS4, and even then i can only confirm it occuring on a Mac...
Still, the problem has now been fixed as we have introduced a new stats panel for both lite and regular Away3d, similar to mrdoob's stats but with a few extra 3d-only properties on display, and best of all - no slowdown in cs4! we'll be replacing all the old stats panels with AwayStats in the next major release of lite. in the meantime, the class works in exactly the same way, and is found in the new away3dlite.debug package cheers Rob On Sat, Oct 10, 2009 at 10:45 PM, ben <[email protected]> wrote: > > I didn't notice it at first sight, but what about those line in away3D > light : > > //hack to get framerate up in cs4 > var background:Sprite = new Sprite(); > background.graphics.lineStyle(1, 0); > background.graphics.drawRect(-stage.stageWidth/2, > -stage.stageHeight/ > 2, stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight); > view.addChild(background); > > Could I know more about it ??? -- Rob Bateman Flash Development & Consultancy [email protected] www.infiniteturtles.co.uk www.away3d.com
