Julian, you can do a preloader just the same as you would do for any
other flash.

If your loading your 3D assets externally tho you would want to check
out Loader3D and Loader3DEvent
have your model references in an array and pop them off as each one
completes, when your array is empty then you add the view.

If your embedding your assets, I'd generally go for something similar
