Hi Leerraum , Just a couple of things that I've noticed with flash and Away3d. BitmapData can play up. This might be the case here I'm not sure.
If you parse bad memory address or Flash run s out of Memory while compiling. It'll some times fire a null instead of the bitmapdata. Don't ask me why. I just got annoyed with it once. I thought it was a problem with my code and change Lots of stuff to try and to try to get it to work. Luckily I backed up the original before I start changing everything. Because All I had to do is restart my computer and the movie ran again.... If you ever get a random Null happening with a bitmapdata. And you are sure it should work, check and if you are still sure it should work , restart the computer try again. You might find it'll work again. :) This happens with slower / older computers more. Hope it helps.
