svn branche reffers to dev versions mostly the work of one dev on a certain functionality. In trunk/f10 and f9, the version are the "official" builds, branches eventually gets merged to trunk once desired functionality is working properly. Trunk is also holding all the latest fixes that will lead to an official release every now and then.
