Hi there , I'm just wondering if there are common Memory leaks that you know of with Away3d the normal version not lite. I've been reading a little bit, and there seems to be a lot of talk about memory leaks.. I too are currently having a problem with leaks, but are having trouble on locating them. I fully understand GC, and deleting all refs. I am trying to make a space scene where you fly around the space. When you come close to a sun, it'll then change from a sprite into a sphere. load texture, place a point light and load orbiting planets(spheres also) if you fly towards the plasets, they'll also incress detail... Trouble is, everytime I load a new solo-system the memory jumps up by about 60mb... and never frees up again. I've made it as you fly away from the sun and planets, it'll then load to the sprite again.. View distance type thing. I'm using a Tween.addTween(.... also to move the camera.
**Now I have read that there is a leak with ownCanvas property ?? is this true? I deleted that and all filters, to see if that would make a difference, but made none. **I see that there is a View3D leak, but I think that is only for the lite version , is that correct? and is there any other bad practices that I should avoid with using away3d?? Would it be better for me to use the lite version? Is there a good program for finding and dealing with memory leaks in Flash CS4 (not flex) that you know of ?
