Hey. Yes, unfortunately irregular faces (faces with more than 3 vertices) do not support BitmapMaterials in the current version of the engine. In order for them an "s" glyph to support correct texture perspective, the face would need to be subdivided into a significant amount of triangles. Our approach avoids handling so many triangles so that the Flash Player can deal with a lot of glyphs, but of course at the cost of only being able to use basic materials on them, amongst other things... If you want text with advanced materials, you'd need to import the text as geometry from a 3D editing software. Once you have it in Away as triangles, you can treat it as any other geometry.
