Thanks for your comments,  I had a lot of problems getting the model
to render without z-fighting.  I ended up splitting the model into
three sections and rendering each one in a different view, stacking
them up to enforce the correct ordering.  It seems to work well enough
without much performance hit with a simple scene like this.  I didn't
specify a movie quality.
@Jerome, the buttons are standard company assets, not a design choice
of mine.  I'll inform the designers : )
