See the output.as from Prefab as a displayObject that needs to be addChilded.
So indeed, once propperly inited, constructors are fired.
Yet the class requires a stage property that exists to init its 3d. It will wait till it gets one.

That having said, many users using these Prefab files were thinking it wasn't working, while it was in front of their noses perfectly running... The misleading reason is simple: if the path to awd images is wrong, its all white, all arround. If you see this, just place a trace in enterframe handler to make sure (or change swf background prop) and check your path to sources if the trace exist.
If not, its probably the stage issue.
