[away3d] disappearing scene?

I have a sporadic issue on my site where sometimes the entire scene
just disappears and there's no way to bring it back. It seems to
happen if you click outside of the 3D scene but I can't distinguish a
repeatable pattern. There are no hiccups in the render loop or
anything being reported by the debugger. Thing's work just fine and
then every once in a while the whole thing just blinks out. Has anyone
ever encountered anything like this..?
