Hi folks, has anyone hit this? It looks like a problem with the obj
parser but I'm surprised nobody has seen it.

Looks like 3.6.0 won't load an obj mtl file in the format that MAX
exports because the mtl file has leading tabs. E.g. here's the format
which doesn't parse (the full mtl files are appended):

# 3ds Max Wavefront OBJ Exporter v0.97b - (c)2007 guruware
# File Created: 14.10.2010 22:01:54

newmtl mtlA
        Ns 10.0000
        Ni 1.5000
        d 1.0000
...

But if I remove the leading tabs that indent Ns etc. then it reads
fine. With the tabs present, in 3.5.x it throws an error, in 3.6 it
seems to silently skip the material (I preferred getting the error
actually :)

Is there an obj guru out there? :)

Thanks,
Mike
