no ,you are not asking something silly because I was confused too on
different functions usage in Vector3D in comparison to Number3D. But look,
there is no a "complete guide" on this topic.What you should do is first to
read the docs (AS3.0) for each method in Vector3D) then try to compare with
what is the parallel method in Number3D that has the same functionality.
Also feel free to ask here .I convert quite many classes of mine from the
old Away3D math api to the new one ,and should tell you it is just all
right.Vector3D has got all you need for vector operations.
