I never really thought they had an actual working engine in the first place.
It’s most likely a scam to get personal information from people who are looking
for employment (see their join page http://www.rocketninja.com/Home/Join.aspx).
There’s a few possible options here:
1. It really is a scam
2. They really have a working engine, and just posted the video so no one could
decompile it (highly doubt it though)
3. It’s a practical joke; or just all talk and no product (similar to EE-store,
which seems to be a scandal to trick investors
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EEStor)
4. They’re looking for people to help them create a 3D engine, because they
don’t have one yet
I’ve never heard of them prior to this discussion, and none of my colleagues
have either.

May be they put it on a video so that some smart dudes would not decompile
it???

It did look like just a video, not an actual demo....

The fact that they use Away3D for comparison is very cool. Being
compared to commercial / proprietary software isn't something that
happens to every Open Source project out there, so I would say that is
a testament to how good Away3D really is.

According to their funding press release "..,10,000 building blocks
known as polygons ... [the] ... level of quality is close to what you
would find in a high-end console game". Won't $3.5 Million in funding
buy you something better than a Dreamcast? I like Ninjas, but these
seem like the american kind. You know the ones that look cool in
movies but can't fight for real ;-)

That said - I'm sure they'll build a kick-ass engine once they get to
it, but such claims are pretty lame when all you have to show is some
2D Facebook games (that both are copies of bestselling games from
competitors) and a video of a knight? Did I miss something or did they
have an actual running demo there?

Have you guys seen this? Rocket Ninja has a 3D engine and they are
claiming how much better than Away3D it is.

        Thoughts?
