I should have explained a little better;

The player starts with 5 shots, every teapot gives another 3

hitting the blue (ice) asteroids freezes the player

hitting the red (fire) asteroids slows the players controls down.

hitting a torus/circle shape restores the shield

hitting a pyramid puts the game into slow motion for about 5 seconds
