just uploaded an update of WireFrameGrid (works on mac ok now, will look at 
render issue on LineSegment now)

to generate a grid on default XZ plane
var wireFrameGrid:WireFrameGrid = new WireFrameGrid(_view , 50, 500, 1, 
0x985555);
_view.scene.addChild(wireFrameGrid);

to generate a grid on default YZ plane
var wireFrameGrid:WireFrameGrid = new WireFrameGrid(_view , 50, 500, 1, 
0xFF0000, WireFrameGrid.PLANE_XY);
_view.scene.addChild(wireFrameGrid);

this generate a worldplanes grid, comparable to Trident idea
var wireFrameGrid:WireFrameGrid = _new WireFrameGrid(_view , 50, 500, 1, null, 
null, true);
_view.scene.addChild(wireFrameGrid);
