Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, on my side it sometimes
looks right when I stop sliding the slider, sometimes it doesn't.
There  seem to be only 2 states: 1 correct state and 1 state of
"wonky", with always the same diagonal lines showing up.

I will look into the order of rendering and changing the variables. I
suspect however that this is not the cause of the problem, because I
do the render every frame.
