If I am not mistaken, sometimes OBJ files can in fact be scene files, sort
of like how .3DS files can be scene files. What you will need is an .OBJ (or
.3DS) that is just a model, not a scene. So, just because a file is named
.OBJ, doesn't always mean it will be a format that Away3D is looking for.
Please keep trying files, until one works for you good, or you find out what
is going on.

It might take a bit of testing and fussing around until you find out what
works, and what doesn't, and WHY it works or not, but the reward should be
worth it!
