you can use both for a tube/cylinder. the difference is that PathExtrude could allow you to make a more complex tube that is not straight or regular in either scale or rotations.
if you want see how to do, look at Trident class, it shows the way to lathe on the 3 axises. 2 entry vectors would be enough for a tube.
