Textures are somewhat different, because by default they need to be
available through simple HTTP at runtime. If you're using AMF to
transfer your models then you will need to use URL re-mapping (in
Away3D's AssetLoaderContext class) to be able to map the texture URL,
either to another URL or directly to the texture data (that you also
retrieve via AMF.)

For example, if your model at /path/to/model.3ds contains a reference
to "textures/texture.jpg", then usually that texture would be loaded
from /path/to/textures/texture.jpg, i.e. by concatenating the path to
the model and the relative path to the texture together. This is done
by Away3D's loading system. If instead you are using parseData() to
parse the model (which you have to if you are loading it yourself)
then the /path/to/ part of the path won't be available to the loader,
so you have to manually supply it. You can do this either by setting
the dependency base URL to /path/to, or by mapping textures/
texture.jpg to /path/to/textures/texture.jpg using
AssetLoaderContext.mapUrl().

But to answer your direct question: Yes, you should have your textures
on the filesystem. Never store any files in a database, unless it
makes absolute sense to do so.
