grab server on initialization
That allows to not miss any window on startup.

awesome does not work for me: the xserver starts normally and I do not get any
error message from awesome, but I see only the mouse on black, without any
statusbar, any background, anything else.
If I am already running a different version of awesome, I upgrade to latest git
including that commit and I restart awesome, I obtain the same result (also the
xterm I am using disappears).
This happens to me also with the default configuration.
If I revert that commit with git everything works fine.
