• D-Bus support: ?

with debian sid on AMD64. Awesome does not allow access to menu items under the menu of Java applications via the mouse. Menu options can be accessed via hot keys, however not all menu options have hot keys bound to them. I first noticed the issue when a colleague sent me a small application that he had written, I then moved over to trying the demo applications that come with SUN Java, specifically the SwingSet2 demo. At first I assumed it was an issue with Java, so I tried reverting form 1.6 back to 1.5 and even went to trying it in a clean 32bit chroot, same issue. Since hot keys work I assumed it was an interaction with the window manager. If I use XFCE4 or KDE everything works fine this seems to only be an issue when running under Awesome. To duplicate the problem using the SwingSet2 demo:
(on debian sid with sun-java6-demo installed):
cd usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.12/demo/jfc/SwingSet2
java -jar SwingSet2.jar

Try to access any options from the menu such as File->About or File->Exit.
I am also unable to run the NetBeans IDE 6.5.1 under awesome as it seems to
hang while starting. It does come up fine under XFCE4 and KDE I'm not sure if
the issue is related or not.
