Not that i personally care, but awesome's dependencies have become more bleeding edge lately.
In a sense awesome is rather extreme at it's dependencies and api stability. This is fine if you have a niche audience, but it will annoy some people. Especially the mega-freeze distributions are affected. Then again, the api instablity is likely to scare of many more people (this doesn't mean i think the api should be frozen (yet)).
